“ 1. Chiedersi cosa vogliamo comunicare e quanto tempo abbiamo da dedicare

  1. Selezionare bene i canali
  2. Scrivere il piano editoriale focalizzandosi sui contenuti
  3. Diversificare la comunicazione (Facebook – persone; Twitter – brands)

It is officially released Ultimo Riserva 2014 and Carlotta Andrea Buracchi has already very clear what will be the way to go to communicate the news. Carlotta, 26 years old, a communications agency specializing in content creation and Brand Journalism represents the new generation of the wine world, but above all a new way of communicating the values and excellence of a product that needs, today more than ever, to open up to the 4.0 age. – “Ultimo” we are pushing it through social channels, for me the basis of a communication in line with the times “- she explains. – “To launch the Ultimo label, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva 2013, I left at least three months before. The vine offers the opportunity to work from one year to the next, an ideal time frame to design the work in the right time, taking care of all the aspects “. -The company Buracchi identifies itselft in Ultimo, and it is on the “Reserve” that Carlotta wanted to bet, using the most accessible channels to the web audience with different criteria, without losing the tradition of excellence such as Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
Starting from scratch, she created the image of the company without a vineyard (due to the sale of a branch of the company) and with a newborn label, “Ultimo”. A challenge far from simple in a market saturated, in which it is easier to disperse than to enter the orbit of consolidated competitors, although risking to be obscured at any moment. How was your communication strategy born?
“I had to invent something that went beyond the corporate canon. Not being the classic winery with vineyards to be immortalized daily, I had to set up a communication strategy that had an unused thread. The project was conceived following the main guideline of the three social channels: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram “.
What is the importance and usefulness of each channel to communicate the brand and first of all let us know Ultimo? Let’s start with Facebook, what you define as the “cellar-person communication”. “Facebook is essential, you must have it. You can not miss what today has become a real “search engine”. My first contacts came from this platform: old and new customers, fairs, events, slowly an interesting mechanism it has triggered from the point of view of trade and visibility. Facebook is used to talk to and to people: customers, friends, individuals, whether they are wine distributors or simply wine lovers. The aim is to build eco-friendly community with fresh, authentic and original content. Be careful not to be too self-referential: constantly and only communicating your brand tired the user. I have chosen to inform the public, share it telling what happens in the wine sector and in food and wine: from events to news, to cooking and tourism . It is a service for those who follow the brand “.

Instagram is the most used by millenials and that is why has passed the other two channels …
“It’s the social that enhances the image. Through the photos you can create “engagement”, engage users with authenticity. The love does not leads to the immediate purchase or direct dialogue but to the reputation of the brand. Instagram is the showcase where to show the work of every day, the tastings, the backstage, not just glossy photos. In fact, you have to show how you get your hands dirty to win public trust “.
Then comes Twitter, the most professional of the three, what you call the “winery-brand communication“.
“Twitter is the business channel, it is used to make link building, to make the brands close together, to put the cellars in contact and to dialogue with associations, partners, influencers who will review my wines, in short, the professionals of the sector. On Twitter you update and follow the legislative news, participate in the debate with your professional point of view “.

The fundamental aspect of your communication strategy is summed up in the question you asked yourself when Ultimo was launched on social networks: what can a cellar do to enrich information?

“Communication must enrich the reader. At the beginning I started to post photos of Ultimo’s bottling, creating an expectation as we approached the exit of the wine. So I developed a detailed editorial plan, paying attention to the times in which to post (for wine it is important to do it during meals and at weekends, when people are freer to enjoy a glass and want to visit cellars, make tastings). But I focused mainly on what is the key to my work: that is, not to post every day topics of your own cellar. The point is not to make self-referential communication. What can a cellar do to improve its communication and do good? Surely enriching others, for example by giving small pills to know about unknown aspects of wine, without being afraid to talk about competitors or other denominations. Only by pursuing this line will it become a recognized and appreciated brand because it gives an information service. Those who follow my page must feel gratified by interesting contents, find useful information and acquire new knowledge “.

Summing up your vademecum posted a few days ago on facebook in which you tell the communication strategy for Ultimo, what are the basic steps and advice for those who want to communicate the wine on social networks?

“1. Ask yourself what we want to communicate and how much time we have to devote

  1. Select the channels well
  2. Write the editorial plan focusing on the contents
  3. Diversify communication (Facebook – people, Twitter – brands)
  4. Respect the strategy to cultivate the community “.

And the website?

“The website is an essential element if you want to communicate on social media: it must be dynamic and have a constantly updated ews / blog section. The consumer wants to feel close to the brand otherwise the identification mechanism does not trigger, so it is important to talk and interact in real time every day “.
