Francigena e buon vino, connubio irrinunciabile per un enoturista Doc.
Ci sono volte in cui la bontà di un vino è opinione di chi lo beve (o lo produce), e volte in cui la sua qualità è verità. Cinque dei vini firmati dalla Fattoria di San Quintino di San Miniato e dalle sapienti mani di Sandro Angiolini, si sono visti riconoscere da Decanter meriti di qualità che non potranno non spingervi a venire di persona tra i colli in cui vedono la luce: Chianti e Quinto 90 punti (Argento), Rosato 86 (Bronzo), Fagiana e Vermentino 84 (con menzione di lode), Nicchiaia 85 (Lode). E a sottolineare l‘eccellenza si aggiunge un Argento da Citadelle du Vin a Quinto 2016.
Numeri a parte, che comunque contribuiscono a rassicurare sul lavoro di livello fatto dall ‘azienda della provincia di Pisa, non potete visitare la famosa Torre di Pisa senza sfiorare San Miniato. Perché? Per il suo pregiato tartufo bianco, perché sorge lungo la via Francigena, perché (non a caso) fu tra le città favorite degli imperatori Otto I e Federico II, e i Papi Gregorio V e Eugenio IV. Anche la predilezione per questi luoghi da parte di Michel de Montaigne e Wolfgang Goethe dovrebbe accrescere la curiosità dei winelovers. Qui già prima dell’anno mille sorgeva il ‘Castello o Castelletto di San Quintino’ dando i natali ai prodotti della Fattoria odierna. Un’eredità produttiva racchiusa in prodotti specchio di tipicità e qualità toscana, che uniscono tradizione e storia.

Sometimes the quality of a wine depends on people or producers’ opinion, sometimes it is instead truth. Five wines of the San Quintino’s winery in San Miniato, created by the capable hands of Sandro Angiolini, have been highly recognized for their quality credits by Decanter and this will surely encourage you to personally visit the hills where these wines are born: Chianti and Quinto 90 points (silver), Rosato 86 (bronze), Fagiana and Vermentino 84 (with distinction mention), Nicchiaia 85 (with distinction). In addition, to further highlight the excellence, a silver recognition to Quinto 2016 by Citadelle du Vin.
These numbers surely confirm the great work done by this winery in San Miniato and this is only one of the good reasons to visit this town close to the famous Pisa’s tower. The other reasons are its precious white truffle; the Francigena road, along which it is located; its history as one of the favorite towns of the emperors Otto I and Frederick II, the popes Gregory V and Eugenio IV. Michel de Montaigne and Wolfgang Goethe used to love this place too, and this should contribute to increase the wine-lovers’ curiosity. Here, even before the year 1000, the “castle or small castle of San Quintino” was present, and that was the ancestor of the modern estate. A productive heritage in their products, symbols of the typical Tuscan quality, combining tradition and history.
