Vigna, cantina e borgo: i progetti di un angolo di Radda in Chianti.
Per 20 anni Podere Capaccia ha visto solo ponteggi, finchè l’amore per questo angolo di Toscana ha spinto Herman de Bode, attuale proprietario, a credere che fosse possibile riportare il borgo di Radda in Chianti risalente al 1200 al suo antico splendore, valorizzando prima un vigneto vocato a offrire un Chianti Classico elegante e longevo, poi mettendo in essere un progetto di recupero nel pieno rispetto delle strutture originali. Oggi è il turno della cantina, uno spazio integrato col paesaggio in cui tecnologia e innovazione non mancano, e a cui faranno seguito nel giro di pochi anni la creazione di un Wine Shop, una nuova barricaia destinata a ospitare degustazioni e incontri sul tema vino, il recupero delle precedenti abitazioni dette Torretta e Solatio. A Capaccia ciò che non manca è la pazienza: esattamente come il vino che già nella versione base prevede 6 mesi in bottiglia, e fino ai 2 anni per la Riserva, qui un passo alla volta si ricompone un angolo di Toscana memore delle sue tradizioni. E come la vite sente la vita fluire nuovamente in primavera, anche la cantina attenderà il suo taglio del nastro ufficiale nel 2018.

Podere Capaccia: the recovery activities continue
Vineyard, winery and hamlet: projects for a corner of Radda in Chianti.
For 20 years Podere Capaccia has been almost abandoned, until the love for this corner of the Tuscan region made Herman de Bode – the actual owner – believe that this 13th century hamlet could be restored to its former glory. The first project was improving the vineyard in order to get an elegant and lasting Chianti Classico. The second one was an accurate recovery of the original buildings. Now it’s the winery: an area integrated into the surroundings, where technology and innovation are fundamental. The creation of a wine shop, a new barrique cellar and the recovery of the Torretta and Solatio buildings will follow afterwards. There is no hurry in Podere Capaccia: exactly like the wine – aging from six months up to two years (Riserva) in bottles – here a piece of the Tuscan history is patiently rebuilt respecting its traditions. Like the vine going back to a new life in spring, the winery will have its ribbon-cutting ceremony in 2018.
